Platt Park Homes In Denver, Colorado

Platt Park is one of Denver’s most peaceful and appealing neighborhoods. It is a 100-block square, distinctly urban neighborhood in south Denver close to Washington Park and Cherry Creek.

Platt Park has wonderful old homes from sturdy brick bungalows to historic Tudors, Single-family bungalows, story-and-a-halfs, and even a few Victorians. Home prices for single-family homes range from mid $400,000 to $1,000,000. Developers have rediscovered Platt Park and are building new homes and duplexes that fit this area's energetic spirit. There is also a trend toward new townhomes in this area. Access to Downtown Denver and the south suburbs via the light rail system has spurred development, with new homes now standing next to quaint 1920s bungalows.

LOCATION

Platt Park is located between well-trafficked Downing, Broadway, Evans, and I-25.  In the early 1900s, Platt Park was once a separate City from Denver. A clanking trolley line connected this area to Denver.  Named after early Denver leader James Platt (and not the Platte River, as it is commonly thought). Awards include:

  • Denver's #1 Economically Integrated Neighborhood in 2015, Westworld
  • #19 Denver's Best Neighborhood in 2015, 5280

The following reasons make this community one of the hottest Denver neighborhood:

  • CENTRAL LOCATION  The commute is less than 10 minutes to downtown, Highlands, and DTC. Very walkable with good public transportation, very bikeable.
  • Platt Park is also known for its shopping area, Old South Pearl. Whether it’s a morning chai at a homey coffeehouse, lunch with friends on a restaurant patio, or fine dining at a local hotspot, this “main street”—complete with seasonal farmer’s market and eclectic shops—is sure to please.
  • PARK  Have a nice stroll at the little park in the middle of this quaint neighborhood. Baby-toting parents, athletic-minded joggers and cyclists, romantic couples on picnics, and dogs chasing balls for their owners are all drawn here to socialize, relax, and bask in the neighborhood they call home.
  • The Platt Park neighborhood also features the historic Decker Branch library and a senior recreation center.
  • Established and upscale, Platt Park Home values are increasing!

Who lives here?

Platt Park bungalows, foursquare homes, and classic Tudors remodeled into minimalist, modern dwellings resulted to an eclectic mixture of established residents, first-time homeowners, and a trickle of nearby University of Denver students.

Schools

Some of the city's best schools are nearby. McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School sits on Platt’s northern border. The University of Denver campus is just a five-minute drive to the east, while Evans and Broadway both allow quick I-25 access.
